Marriage

It has been a whirlwind first year for us. Scottie and I got married in October of 2009 and on our honeymoon I decided I wanted to go back to school. Scottie had been pushing me for a couple of years because we both value higher education, but I wasn't ready to leave my home until I was married, and I wasn't willing to pay for a Georgetown or GW MBA.
We got home from the honeymoon and my life quickly began to revolve around thank you notes and GMAT preparation. I took the GMAT in December and didn't do extremely well, but then the day after Christmas my sister informed me that if I applied to Brigham Young University and they liked everything about me except my score they would give me an opportunity to take it again. I immediately went about preparing my application and submitted it on January 15th. On February 19th the team of financial advisors I worked with left our firm and set up shop at a different one. The transition meant long hours and a stressful time, but it kept my mind off of worrying about whether BYU was going to accept me or not. Well in March they came back to me just like my sister had said and offered for me to take the GMAT again. I did so and was accepted the next day. Within two months we had packed up all our belongings, rented out our condo, found someone to drive my car, and were on our way to our new home in the mountains.
... and then the adventure really began.
